IELTS Speaking Questions

IELTS Part 1 Speaking Questions

Well, usually I commute to work. I usually cycle every day in the morning and the evenings if the weather is fine. If it isn’t, I take the bus.
What equipment do I need? Well, like most people I use a computer and I get lots of emails that have to answer. I periodically check my emails because I don’t like to do it all the time.
I suppose one thing that I really don’t like about my job is entering data. I work in customer service so every day I have to enter in lots of data about the customers. I have to be careful to get it right, but it isn’t hard. I would call it mind-numbing. Totally dull.

IELTS Part 3 Speaking Questions

If you ask me, the most respected job is a doctor. I think this is because everyone knows it takes a long time to become a doctor, and also that doctors have to make very important decisions. For example, if they get a decision wrong, maybe someone will die. Another job that a lot of people look up to in my country are the police. In my country, the police are not armed, what I mean is, they don’t have guns, so they have to be very careful and very brave.
Actually, I don’t know if you can do much to make the work less boring. But people can try to make work more fun. For example, people can collaborate and solve problems together rather than by themselves. And they can try to bite the bullet and do the worst jobs early in the day while their brains are fresh. Finally, one idea is reduce the time people spend in meetings. If all meetings were walking meetings, people would get fitter and the meetings would be shorter too!
